HB 656 is sent to the Governor's desk
The Capitol Fax Blog has the run down I was unable to follow these developments today. If you care about this issue don't get your hopes too far. The governor would like to make "improvements" to the bill (I know that's a lot of pages but I can't find anything shorter that can concisely describe this bill's contents), which calls for a small sales tax increase for the Chicago area only. Governor Rod Blagojevich has pledged to veto sales tax increases.
