Welcome!!!

The idea hit me last month that there should be a blog for the Sixth Ward of Chicago. I figure why not. Uptown has a blog, Roger's Park has several of them, even the 34th Ward has a blog. Why not a 6th Ward Blog?

I'm not sure where this is going to go, yet. I figure if nothing else I can post info about the 6th Ward perhaps videos, real estate, businesses, schools, or churches. I want to post pictures that I have found about the 6th Ward. Perhaps eventually I can go into politics.

For right now I want to take this one day at a time.

  1. Sounds like a good plan.

i just want to urge you to not sway too negative in the blog, or let the negative comments go without response.

when i first looked for Uptown on the internet, the only thing that came up was about how Genesis and/or the Grateful Dead played a concert in the last days of full operation for the Uptown Theater.

Since then, there has been much evelopment, but unfortunately, in Uptown, it has only been one point of view that dominates, and the diversity of the neighborhood isn't represented, and the beauty of Uptown is overwhelmed by the negativity directed toward Helen Shiller, and emphasizes the bad that's in the neighborhood.

From what i have read on your other blog, you are wiser then those other blogs, and look forward to see what happens. i hope it's a trendsetter to encourage other next generation 6th warders to be involved.

You have had a great start from your other postings (which i suggest you reprint here)& hope others will contribute.

There's practically nothing out there now for the 6th ward & CHatham, but i hope this blog can start the change.
